Volunteering is a rewarding experience. Friends of Historic Champoeg (FHC) is nonprofit organization working in partnership with Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department to interpret the cultural and natural history of Champoeg State Heritage Area. Volunteers help us share the story of Oregon’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following:

Public Programming Events

We are looking for volunteers of all skill and interest levels. Volunteers are the backbone of these programs      and assist in the following roles:

  • Costumed demonstrations of skills and crafts typical of the life circa the mid-late 1800s
  • Logistics, which can include event planning, volunteer coordination, behind the scenes work with props and costumes, as well as setup and take down.

Board Membership

We are always interested in hearing from anyone who wants to participate on a governing level. We are particularly interested in persons with the following experience or expertise, but we encourage all who are interested to apply:

  • Non-profit business
  • Fundraising
  • Event Planning

  • Financial
